Taste of Italy Returns to DTLA on Oct 14

October 4, 2017 by Bryan

The Taste of Italy is a one day festival of Italian culture and cuisine benefiting the Italian American Museum. The event features the LA’s top Italian and Italian American restaurants and wineries, offering a delicious and diverse array of culinary delights. The festival also features live musical entertainment at a beautiful outdoor plaza on historic Olvera Street.

The event will feature 40+ of the area’s best Italian restaurants, 100+ premium wines, live entertainment and chef demonstrations. Guests may also test their skills with a game of bocce in the Birra Moretti Bocce Court.

Drago Centro will feature their house-made garganelli pasta with fennel pollen and lamb ragú. West Hollywood’s, Prova Pizzeria with serve genuine Neapolitan pizza baked in a traditional wood-burning oven. Other restaurants to note include: Celestino Ristorante, Il Fornaio, Locanda del Lago, Primo Italia and Valentino.

Make sure you save room for dessert as some of the creations include: panna cotta, frittelle (cream puffs), and more mouth-watering sweets from Carrara Pastries’ own Food Network star, Damiano Carrara. Black Market Gelato will have samples of their soy free, gluten free and all natural gelato. They were a recent US finalist of the prestigious Gelato World Tour!

Approximately 100 world-renowned wines and spirits will be served. August Ridge Vineyards, Birra Moretti, Lemoncocco, Malfy Gin, Pallini Limoncello, Peroni, Prunotto Wine and San Antonio Winery to name a few. Be sure to look for the “Road of Wine”. They will present their much anticipated 2013 Barolo from Agricola Colle Belvedere/Gian Piero Marrone—a 95-point wine according to Decanter World Wine.
