October is National Seafood Month, and there are many ways to enjoy it. From fish tacos to plump lobster tails, crispy fried catfish, and sushi, there’s a kind of seafood for just about everyone. Did you know eating fish may help reduce cognitive decline and improve bone and eye health? Here are some ways to celebrate National Seafood Month.

$25 Anniversary Specials at The Lobster

Santa Monica’s iconic seafood restaurant, The Lobster, is marking its 25th Anniversary with $25 anniversary specials. Chef Govind Armstrong is extending the anniversary menu throughout October to celebrate National Seafood Month. You can indulge in four of The Lobster’s signature dishes for just $25 and receive a complimentary dessert!

Off The Hook Seafood Festival Returns on October 13

Save the date for Off The Hook Seafood, a food festival at the iconic Santa Monica Pier on October 13. The event will feature the city’s top restaurants and chefs, offering a variety of seafood tastings, including oysters, lobster, shrimp, and sushi, as well as beer and wine gardens.

Get ready to experience the PCH beach vibe with live performances by The Yachtly Crew and The Windbreakers. The Yachtly Crew is currently on a national tour, while The Windbreakers are known for their regular performances at Saint Rocke, the South Bay’s premier music venue.

This event supports Heal the Bay, an environmental nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the safety of LA beaches and coastal waters. In addition, OFF THE HOOK is committed to being 100% free of single-use plastics, contributing to a cleaner Santa Monica Bay and beaches.

San Pedro Fish Market Celebrates Throughout October

In October, the San Pedro Fish Market begins its annual SHRIMPFEST24, a seafood extravaganza at all three locations. Events will take place throughout the month, providing ample opportunities to enjoy!

On October 11th, SHRIMPFEST24 kicks off at its Wilmington location. The event will showcase dishes originating there, such as the Internet-famous Lobster Grilled Cheese and Loaded Potatoes. On October 18th, guests can enjoy a variety of experiences, including building their own ceviche platters, watching their favorite seafood being cooked fresh to order, and receiving their meals straight off the grill. This outdoor dining experience will also feature live mariachi music inspired by the original Fish Market’s atmosphere.

San Pedro Fish Market will conclude the month on October 25th with its annual dinner, which will be held in the restaurant’s second-floor event space offering panoramic views of Alamitos Bay.
