Love and Salt Offers Free Breakfast Sandwich

December 11, 2017 by Bryan

If you partake in social media, it is often worthwhile to follow companies you like. Many companies reward their followers with specials and information that is not generally advertised to the public. I recently took advantage of a special brunch offer from Love and Salt.

Love and SaltLove and Salt recently posted the following on their Facebook page:

Love and Salt

I thought, Wow, a free premium breakfast sandwich from Love and Salt? It was a no brainer for me because I live about about 20 minutes from the restaurant.

I arrived at the restaurant at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and I was shocked not to see anyone lined up in front of the restaurant. Just before 10:00, 5 people suddenly showed up. I began to wonder if they cancelled the offer and I wasn’t aware of it.

Delicious Tequila Sunrise

Since I went solo, I opted to sit at the bar. The bartender quickly took my order and quickly returned with a colorful Tequila Sunrise. This drink was a walk down memory lane because it was originally created in the 70’s.

While I was there, The Travel Channel was interviewing owner, Sylvie Gabriele. Overhearing the dialogue, it appeared that they were including Love and Salt as one of their featured restaurants in their tour of the South Bay. I was asked to sign a talent release form because the back of my head was in view of the camera.

My Tequila Sunrise was tasty and a bit strong which surprised and delighted me. El Jimador silver, fresh orange juice and grenadine syrup were poured into a lowball glass one at a time. The grenadine dissolved instead of floating to the bottom and didn’t create the typical color pattern. Best of all, it was only $5!

Chicken Sausage and Egg Sandwich

The sandwich was comprised of a chicken sausage patty, scrambled eggs, fontina cheese and herb pesto sauce on a toasted brioche bun. I believe the scrambled eggs were baked because the end result was a gooey ½” thick egg omelette. The herb pesto sauce was slightly spicy which amped up the flavor of the chicken sausage. Larder Baking Co. buns gave the sandwich a nice fragrance and I appreciated that it wasn’t dense and filling like some other brioche buns.

There are three more opportunities to enjoy this chicken sausage sandwich for free. Just be one of the first 15 customers on Saturday, Dec, 16, 23, or 30. Love and Salt opens at 10:00 a.m. on the weekends.

    Hi Bryan,

Another great review! I could meet you there sometime for breakfast. It doesn’t have to be for this special. Maybe in January? I had not heard of this place before.

    Take care…..Dean
