Where To Find Holiday Latkes in Los Angeles

Latke is Yiddish for “pancake.” Every Jewish family has a different take on holiday latkes. Some are flat and lacy, while others are thick with substantial chew. They are often served topped with sour cream and served with applesauce. Listed below is where you can find latkes in LA and Orange Counties. Even if you aren’t Jewish, you will enjoy this tradition!

Mid City

Milky Way

This year Milky Way has both onsite dining and food for takeout or Door Dash delivery. They feature both a latke kit with a dozen latkes for $36 or a single serving for $12. Latkes include their housemade apple compote and sour cream and must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.

Langer’s Deli

There is more than the #19 pastrami at Langer’s Deli. Other popular items include their chili cheese fries, lox platter and their potato latzkes (5) with apple sauce or sour cream. The are available onsite or to-go.

Westside

Akasha

Akasha brings back their popular Hanukkah Latkes & Vodkas a la carte menu. Due to the pandemic, all dishes come pre-cooked and ready to reheat at home. Their delicious vodka cocktails come pre-mixed and are provided in 12oz glass bottles. Half dozen latkes are only $10.

Urth Caffé

Urth Caffé is a popular local chain for breakfast or brunch. Their menu selection is impressive as they cater to all types of people and tastes. Two golden brown latkes topped with sour cream is only $3.95.

Orange County

Katella Deli

Katella Deli is a Jewish Bakery, Deli, and Restaurant that has served Los Alamitos residents for over 50 years. Many of the items are made from Eastern European family recipes. Three golden brown latzkes are served with apple sauce, sour cream and fresh fruit for $12.99.

The Kosher Bite

The Kosher Bite is a quaint family-owned Kosher deli best known for their sandwiches. They feature quite a few selections such as corned beef, pastrami, and brisket. Traditional favorites liked chopped liver, matzo ball soup, and potato pancakes are also available.

Benjies New York Style Deli

Benjies offers a true New York-style deli experience, in Santa Ana. Large portions, fresh products, and an extensive array of menu items such as corned beef on rye to bagels and lox to matzo ball soup to delicious desserts. Two potato latkzkes with apple sauce and sour cream is $8.49.

Mail Order Latkes

Russ and Daughters

Russ and Daughters is a family run store located in New  York City. It’s iconic bagels and lox sandwiches are expertly assembled and worth the wait. They have partnered with Gold Belly to make many of their items available via mail order. A 12 pack of holiday latkes is $34 and may be purchased here.

Williams-Sonoma

Individuals requiring gluten-free selections will appreciate their Gluten-Free Mini Latkes. It arrives frozen in a set of 48. This item is not available in their stores and can only be purchased on-line.
