Hanukkah 2018 – Restaurant and To Go Offerings

Hanukkah takes place December 2 through December 10 this year. Because I enjoy latkes, I decided to pull together my first attempt at a Hanukkah Holiday roundup. Celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights at one of the restaurants or eating establishments listed below.

AKASHA

Dec 2-9, AKASHA will feature their famous Yukon Gold Potato Latkes served with a choice of applesauce, smoked salmon or citrus braised duck. Entrees consist of Brisket with roasted carrots, potato pancakes & applesauce, Ora King Salmon, citrus celery root & spinach puree savoy cabbage, and sunchoke crisps.

Mari Los Angeles

Dec 2-10, Mari is celebrating the festival of lights with a special three-course prix-fixe menu in the Hanukkah tradition – with a few twists. The menu line-up includes classics such as Latkes served with Crème Fraiche and Applesauce and also offers guests more unique entrée options such as Slow Roasted Brisket or Potato Crusted Salmon. Dessert offerings naturally include Sufganiyah, as well as Toasted Babka with Halvah Ice Cream, so guests can conclude Hanukkah dinner on a sweet note.

Dinner is $45 per person from 5:30 – 9 p.m. A children’s menu is also available upon request.

Original Farmers Market

Dec 2, from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., celebrate Hanukkah with the lighting of a giant Lego menorah, music and arts and crafts. Enjoy live music by Charlie Kramer and Chayut. Original Farmers Market merchants will feature holiday favorites including brisket, fresh latke ingredients, bread and pastries, Kosher wines, menorahs and candles, candies and endless Hanukkah gift ideas.

Revolutionario

To keep Hanukkah interesting, Revolutionario is rolling out their Halal Hanukkah specials one entree at a time. The first is a Moroccan roast chicken with a sauce of slow roasted tomatoes, apricots, sour plums, and golden raisins served with basmati rice. The chicken is seasoned with 28 different spices. Saddle Peak Lodge

Hanukkah Meals To Go

With schedules tight and people overworked, many people don’t realize they don’t have time to cook. Consider purchasing a fully cooked Hanukkah meal that only needs to be reheated.

Gelson’s

Gelson’s is offering Kosher-Style Dinners available for pickup starting Nov. 27. Entrees include Rotisserie Chicken (no salt or free range) or Beef Brisket. Both dinners include:

  • Matzo balls with chicken broth
  • Tzimmes
  • Chopped beef liver with egg
  • Potato pancakes with applesauce
  • Noodle Kugel

The Catering Department in Joan’s on Third wants to prepare your Hanukkah meal. The Catering menu features:
