Gringo Bandito Spicy Yellow Sauce Debuts

May 20, 2019 by Bryan

Dexter Holland of the multi-platinum band The Offspring created his first hot sauce as a Christmas present to his friends. The response to his hot sauce was so overwhelming that Holland decided to put it out commercially as Gringo Bandito. The company is based in Orange County.

On May 5, 2019, Gringo Bandito released a brand new ‘Spicy Yellow’ sauce. For those that weren’t satisfied with the heat of their ‘Super Hot’ sauce, the Spicy Yellow is their hottest sauce produced. It is made with Scotch Bonnet and Habanero peppers. Both chiles are known for their heat.

  • Vegetarian enchiladas
  • Huevos Rancheros

My wife recently made huevos rancheros. I sprinkled about 8 drips of the Spicy Yellow sauce on top of the fried egg. Eating the huevos rancheros, I could immediately feel my saliva glands kick in. Beads of sweat started forming on my forehead. While the heat level was hot, it wasn’t a “mouth on fire” type of heat and it tasted slightly fruity.

I also tried it on my homemade vegetarian enchiladas. While it amplified the heat of the enchiladas, I suspect that it was better suited to add it to a dish that didn’t already have a spicy sauce. Dabbling on a cheese quesadilla, I could get a sense for the true flavor of the sauce. It seemed homemade as it was fresh, with a slightly sour and fruity taste.

In addition to their initial red sauce, Gringo Bandito also has a green and a ‘Super Hot’ sauce. They are in the top 10 of Amazon.com’s highest rated hot sauces amongst 5000+ other products and have become a top selling national hot sauce.

You can feel good about using their sauces because they have no preservatives and are made from natural ingredients. They also have 70% less salt than most of their competitors. Best of all, these chiles have capsaicin and flavonoids which have many known health benefits such as reducing the risk of cancer and lowering blood pressure.

Gringo Bandito is now sold in Australia, Japan, Canada, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Hungary and coast to coast in the US. Their yellow sauce is available exclusively on Amazon.com and Gringo Bandito’s official online store.
