Celebrate National Doughnut Day

National Doughnut Day is celebrated annually in the U.S. on the first Friday in June, succeeding the doughnut event created by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor those of their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. The holiday celebrates the doughnut. Some of the participating doughnut shops include:

Dunkin’ Donuts

East coast favorite, Dunkin’ Donuts, will weigh in on one of its favorite days of the year — National Doughnut Day on Friday, June 1st — by once again offering guests a free classic doughnut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage.

Papa’s Johns

Papa John’s recently introduced doughnut holes filled with caramel. On Friday, it is offering a free 10-piece order of doughnut holes with every online pizza while supplies last.

Primo’s Donuts

Many doughnut lovers consider Primo’s to have the best buttermilk doughnut in LA. To handle the rush on Friday, they will open at 5:30 a.m. for their biggest day of the year. A new limited edition flavor will be available that day.

Sidecar

Sidecar Doughnuts will deploy their food truck on Friday and it will be headed to Salt & Straw in Larchmont! From 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., they will serve their famous doughnuts filled with ice cream from Salt & Straw! In addition, they will give out a ‘Free Doughnut Card’ to the first 50 customers to purchase a scoop/pint of one of their new June flavors!

Walmart

Every single Walmart in America will give away free doughnuts to customers. Walmart expects to give away 1.2 million doughnuts nationwide by the end of the day.
